Rebekah's Baptism

On Sunday, Rebekah Jane was baptized by our associate pastor Suzanne. I have become close to Suzanne over the past couple of years. We initially bonded over the fact that she used to live in Santa Barbara too, and we share the same favorite place on the beach there. Then Nelson and I participated in a Crown Ministry bible study with she and her husband. Suzanne has been such an incredible support and encouragement to me as I have tried to find my niche here in Albuquerque and make it my home. So when it came time to decide who we wanted to baptize Rebekah it was an easy decision. Suzanne began praying for our little one before she was even born.
Her baptism was beautiful and so special because both my parents as well as Nelson's parents were able to stand with us as we brought Rebekah forward for baptism. We also felt so supported by many of our friends here who also came to the service.
Rebekah wore the baptismal gown that my great-grandmother made for my mom for her baptism. It was worn by my mom and her sisters, me and my sisters as well as our cousins and my niece, Abby. My sister commented that all who have worn that gown have come to know and love the Lord. Just thinking about that brings tears to my eyes for my main prayer is that Rebekah will someday choose to accept Christ for herself and become a woman who loves Jesus.

How precious! I love the history in the gown. What a symbol of the amazing heritage Rebekah is born into. What a treasure.
